Jocelyn Almy-Testa, aka Coach Testa

Track and Field Coach | Athlete Developer | Motivational Leader

"My coaching philosophy is simple - coach the athlete, teach the sport. 

 

Each athlete has unique goals, needs, skills, strengths, weaknesses, and aptitudes. Track and field is the basis of our work. We find common ground through our interest in and passion for the sport. Through trust, communication, and commitment to continually improve, we all excel to our greatest capabilities and achieve our personal goals."

Jocelyn Almy-Testa is a dynamic and accomplished track and field coach with a USATF Level 1 Certification and an MS in Sport Leadership. Specializing in technical events, sprints, and hurdles, Jocelyn is dedicated to developing athletes’ full potential through tailored training programs and expert guidance.​

​

A decorated athlete herself, Jocelyn has earned the prestigious title of Masters All-American in both the shot put and javelin. Most recently, she showcased her perseverance and versatility by completing the Everywoman’s Marathon in Savannah, Georgia, embodying the resilience she instills in her athletes.

​

Jocelyn’s coaching career is marked by exceptional success, with her athletes medaling at the state, regional, and national levels. Her coaching philosophy blends technical precision with mental and emotional support, creating an empowering environment where athletes thrive.

Beyond coaching, Jocelyn is a passionate advocate for the sport of track and field. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association and is actively involved with the Women’s Running Coaches Collective, working to promote the sport and support the development of athletes and coaches alike.

Leveraging her academic foundation in sport leadership, Jocelyn employs evidence-based strategies to optimize performance while fostering a growth mindset and teamwork. She remains committed to professional development to ensure her methods stay innovative and effective.

Whether working with beginners or seasoned competitors, Jocelyn Almy-Testa leads with passion, expertise, and unwavering dedication, inspiring athletes to achieve excellence both on and off the track.

Coach Testa is the mother of four—two postgraduates and high school-aged twins. She is a community organizer and published writer with over twenty years of experience in non-profit and business development. She serves the Town of Topsfield, MA as the Recreation Coordinator. She also earned her MEd from Endicott College. She, her husband Jeff, and their kids live in Topsfield, MA, with their two house bunnies, Eleanor and Martha, their budgies Blue and Grey, and Prince, their axolotl.
